All the way to Belgium and back…

At the end of March, our team boarded planes in our respective hometowns and flew across “the pond” to gather together and recharge in Brussels. Not only did the brews, freshly ironed waffles, and chocolate draw us to the capital of Belgium, but also its centralized location.

Our systems staff arrived in Germany a few days early to meet with the team at real,– Digital Payment and Technology Services (formerly Hitmeister) — one of our private cloud clients.

“Working remotely can present challenges in fostering relationships, so we look for every opportunity to meet our clients in person,” Peter Green, CTO at Agathon Group, said. “So, when we decided to hold team meetings in Belgium, we made it a priority to arrive early and visit real,– Digital in their Cologne, Germany, offices so we could share a meal together and talk face-to-face about future expansion of our relationship.”

On the team meetings themselves, Agathon Group CEO Alan Ritari explains, “When we only meet together as an entire team once or twice a year, we want to create memorable shared experiences and lots of space for generating new ideas. We accomplish more in a few short days under the same roof than we would in weeks of online meetings. Staff look forward to these trips for months!”

Throughout the week, we immersed ourselves in idea-generating breakout sessions, project updates, and team-building activities. We came home with fresh ideas for serving our clients better, growing and continuing to enjoy our day-to-day work.
